At Joodra, we work with a high degree of autonomy. That autonomy is not a lack of oversight; it rests on deep responsibility and trust. We are building a culture where everyone understands how their decisions affect the whole team, and can judge and act for themselves accordingly.
The problems we set out to solve
Instead of listing product features, we write down the problems we have defined. Whichever layer you work on, you end up meeting one of these.
Defining a world without standards as structure
On sites where vendors, equipment, and approaches to regulation all differ, no common schema exists. And yet without a definition, nothing can be queried. How far to lift into the common layer and where to leave things specific is decided anew every time.
Making the unobserved observable
Equipment that is not on the network, history that lives only in someone’s judgement, evidence that moves on paper. The data is not inaccurate; it does not exist in the first place. Making what is missing exist comes first.
The paradox: the closer the fit, the less it is a product
Fit a site exactly and it becomes bespoke to that company; generalize and it fits no site at all. Unless we find a structure that carries the result of each optimization back into the product, the work becomes contract development.
We go onto the site ourselves
Industrial workflows are not standardized. Vendors differ, equipment differs, and so does the approach to regulation. Requirements gathered away from the floor do not produce an operating environment anyone actually uses.
We do not settle for bending general-purpose software into shape. Our engineers go to the site themselves. We call the person who builds the product on top of the customer’s workflow an FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer).
It is not a role that diagnoses and hands over a proposal. Nor one that designs a structure and steps away, nor one that only carries a demo up to signature. Defining the problem, building it, confirming it runs on the site, and fixing it: all of that is the mission.
